The Wanted 2012 Concert in Jakarta!

The Wanted
The Wanted 2012

This picture pretty much sums up everything.
09/20/2012 -> HELLUVA DAY!!!

This is the first concert I've gone to, and I have one word to describe it: AMAZING. This concert is held by Mahaka Entertainment, in Istora Senayan, Jakarta. Although The Wanted is a very famous boyband, not many people came to the concert, so it felt like going to a private concert. Small crowd, therefore pretty intimate.

The concert started at 8.15pm, with Kyle Patrick as the opening act. I just read the news that actually SM*SH was about to be the opening act (source), and THANK GOD The Wanted didn't want a local boyband to be their opening act. Although I didn't know much about Kyle Patrick or Click Five, at least he is waaaaay better than SM*SH (just a personal opinion). KP sang three songs, if I'm not mistaken, the titles are Wild Ways, Happy Birthday, and Jenny. To be honest, KP is very very cute, especially the way he flips his hair!

After KP was finished, The Wanted didn't come on stage right away. At first the audience was chanting 'The Wanted! The Wanted! The Wanted!' tirelessly, but after a few minutes with no sign of them showing up, they stopped shouting. There were some songs played in the background in order not to make the audience bored, but it was useless because 15 minutes was a very long wait.

Minutes before 9pm, my stomach couldn't take it anymore. I WAS FAMISHED. I had my last meal at 12pm, and since then I only had some water to drink. I asked my friend where could I buy some snacks, and she said I had to run because it was quite far from the venue, and she had a feeling that The Wanted would show up very soon.

I ran as fast as possible, of course I didn't want to miss the first song (who the hell on earth would want to miss the first song in the first concert he/she has ever been to?). However, when I was about to step on the last stair, I missed it! I fell in a wrong way, and I instantly sprained my left foot ankle. Afterwards, I was limping. Knowing that I wouldn't be able to reach the place my friend told me, I was only able to walk to the VIP lounge right in front of the gate and took two bottles of mineral water.

When I reached my seat, the timing was extremely perfect! Right when I wanted to put my b*tt down, The Wanted came out! The crowd went extremely hyper, shouting their name, banging the 101 Jakfm blue, long, plastic balloon (I'm not really sure that plastic balloon is the name?).

The one that I spotted instantly is Tom, he wore a red jacket and sunglasses, I was totally stunned, until my jaw dropped to the floor. "I AM LOOKING STRAIGHT AT THE WANTED!!!" my brain said. I took my camera and started taking a video. Other people were jumping wildly while I couldn't because I didn't want to make my sprained ankle worse... Fortunately my mouth was still in a good condition so I could shout as loud as possible! :D

When it came to Heart Vacancy, my friend told me earlier that there would be five people chosen as the 'Heart Vacancy girl', and these extremely lucky people would come up on the stage as The Wanted are singing Heart Vacancy. Two of my friends desperately wanted to be the HV girl, they even told anyone who brought a walkie talkie aka the securities to choose them when it comes to the song. Suddenly, the one who chose the HV girl was not the securities, but The Wanted themselves, and the kind-hearted security gave us a pass to the festival!!! GOD BLESS YOU, SIR! There we were, upgraded from the fifty-plus-meter-from-the-stage seat to two-meter-from-The-Wanted, for free! I don't know how to return this guy's kindness... We said thank you, and abruptly ran downstairs (amazingly, my left foot works perfectly).

Although neither me nor my friends were chosen as the Heart Vacancy girl, we were still very thankful because we could get this opportunity of being so close to The Wanted. I couldn't take my eyes off of Tom, especially his mesmerizing eyes. Seeing him live, so close, I was overwhelmed. Even though I also liked the other member (Nathan, Siva, Max, and Jay), Tom was my ultimate-favorite.

My favorite moment of the whole concert was when Tom played the guitar solo during Fix You. He was adorable...

The concert was amazing, and on behalf of the whole audience, I want to say, dear The Wanted, we are glad you came to Jakarta :)
